Cellular amplifier
giants like Wilson
and others who have dominated the market have literally done it by
riding the backs of the professional sales forces and the nation wide
truck drivers association the TDA, if one ever existed. But with three
carriers like Verizon,
Cingular
AT&T, and T-Mobile
furiously competing to master their own nation wide network
capabilities, it may still take some time until their services no
longer experience occasional dropped calls. Unless you live somewhere
in a hilly area where you are practically living in the stone age in
terms of cellular wireless communications and just cannot get a signal
break if your life depended on it literally. Then it’s about time
you get yourself a Call
Capture or Wilson
cellular amplifier.
Unlike its
counter-part from Wilson
Electronics this dual band Call
Capture (supports GSM, PCP, and CDMA frequencies) amplifier will
distinctively give you an edge in reception capabilities without
drilling into your wallet or checkbook like most Wilson products
usually do. I personally was able to test the Call
Capture In-Vehicle Cellular Signal Enhancer for the past week. My
service carrier is T-Mobile
and I have a Motorola
Razr V3 black edition cellular phone that provides me with
constant receptive problems when driving through certain black spots
near where I do my daily stuff. I especially have amazingly
disappointing reception in or near my house, which I have accurately
named the black hole of communications. Hey maybe I dropped my Razr
too many times and should have gotten a protective
case earlier, but I did not really have such a receptive problems
until I moved of recent. My home ladies and gentlemen is an area where
my network drops me without any warning and I am starting to
personally love conversations where I only hear certain portions of it
and the rest gets muffled into nothingness. Yes that’s always fun!
But if you think the Verizon
Wireless network CDMA gods will counteract any reception
difficulties and trek up my personal hill day in and day out then you
must be kidding yourselves. My fiancé has had Verizon
for the past 3 years and yes her network has been absolutely great,
but she even drops calls frequently there. I guess I cannot complain
that much. I get to see an amazing show of defying acrobatics from a Verizon
customer finally experiencing reception problems, while
simultaneously trying to get reception at an unreachable area called
the black hole.
The
Call
Capture cellular amplification device can be distinctly identified
with its colorful blue and neon yellow looking box and comes in an
amazingly compact and sturdy looking package. Yes folks the Call
Capture amplifier-packaging dose not look cheap! In the box the
first thing that you see is the compact black metallic 1”(L) x
3”(H) X 6.3” (W) amplifier snugly packed. You can choose to fasten
or not to fasten the
amplifier but it may move around when driving around in your car
if you choose not to fasten it. You can place the Call
Capture In-Vehicle Cellular Signal Enhancer in a suitable place
according to your own preferences at most 3 to 4 feet from the 12v
socket. Within the Call
Capture box you will come across three sealed packets. In the
first packet you will also come across a 12v
adapter that plugs directly into your cigarette socket, while the
other end plugs into the amp itself. I patched the cord from the 12v
socket in the middle of my car down to the amplifier so that the
cord is as indistinct as possible. The second packet contains a
powerful magnetic antenna
with an attached cord that is meant to travel from the amplifier
in your car to the center/corner portion on the trunk end of your car.
Make sure that you have a solid magnetic connection to the trunk of
your car and that you are not experiencing much wind factor where you
have placed the antenna. Slip the antenna cord from the
antenna itself on top of the trunk to the amplifier
within your car. Try patching the cord through your trunk down to the
floor of your backseat, to the amplifier itself. The 3rd
and final sealed package contains an internal patch antenna, which is
adhesively attached closest to upper right hand corner on the
passenger side of the car. This internal
antenna directly connects to the Call
Capture amplifier itself. Make
sure that the led light on the 12v
adapter is lit as you start your vehicle to indicate that device
is active and working and you’re good to go. The final items in the
box includes registration information, a manual and installation
directions.
The
value that Call
Capture brings its consumers is that certain devices they carries
works with multiple frequencies enabling multiple phones to use the
amplifier at the same time if the caller is within a certain distance
making the Call Capture Cellular Signal Enhancer a versatile signal
capturing device at a whole sale price compared to its Wilson
competitor. Now not only a single caller can benefit from the signal
amplification device but the whole network near the amplifier can
benefit as well. With the
Call
Capture In-Vehicle Cellular Signal Enhancer
I did experience at most a two-bar increase in receptive quality when
passing through dead areas and near my house when using the phone near
the signal amplifier
within my car. This increase may not seem significant, but to people
who have sustained the humiliation of frequent service fall-outs and
dropped calls this is a blessing from the communication gods that
enables “All cellular phones” to be compatible with the
device as indicated on the box itself. Wow! I recommend that you try
it for yourself. What makes the Call
Capture In-Vehicle Cellular Signal Enhancer
so cool for us at accessorygeeks.com are: (1) a cool compact box
signifying a light weight/small powerful device, (2) a device with a
quick and simple car installation application, (3) a easy plug-in-play
device with an LED indicating working/nonworking operation, (4) a
universally one-fits-all dual frequency cellular compatible device,
(5) easy adaptability from car to car and (6) a price that a wider
segment can appreciate. These reasons are what made the Call
Capture in-vehicle cellular signal enhancement device my practical
choice for amplifiers
compared to its direct competitor Wilson Inc. If want something that
works, something that is versatile and will not cost an arm and a leg
then checkout Call
Capture. The only issues I had with the amplifier is that it got
me paranoid that I will lose the antenna eventually because of wear
and tear to the magnetic portion of the device itself and that I
wished that it would punch out just a bit more power thereby giving
more signal strength. Hey
I am big on power ok! But overall, the device did enhance the
quality of cellular signal reception for the time I used the device
and would recommend anyone with similar signal issues to look into Call
Capture and take control of your cellular experience.
