What is the Distance of Separation required for a Cell Phone Signal Booster?
Distance of separation is the separation needed for an amplifier kit to work properly. If the distance of separation is too short, the amplifier kit will not work to its fullest potential. Think of it as microphone feedback; when you place a microphone too close to the speakers it will give you a screeching noise feedback. Keep in mind that a vertical separation (diagonally going up) helps shortened the total distance of separation required. Refer to the table below when designing your kit.

Great product By Chris Schutz from Rock Springs, WY on November 17, 2009
Out in the oil patch in the high desert of Wyoming where there are very few cell towers, this booster is mandatory if you want service. It makes the difference between no service and two bars, and you can call with two bars. We have equipped all of our field trucks with them. We also have a number of these kits for use with Search & Rescue. Pros:Dual band works on most phones. Wireless so there are no extra cables to mess with.Cons:We still have some dead spots. I'd love to have a ten watt boost.I would recommend this item to a friend.Great car amp By Mickey Carrerra on June 8, 2009
I do alot of traveling in between colorado and montana. Alot of times, reception gets bad inside the car. so I decided to research a little on how to increase signals and luckily found accessorygeeks. These people have excellent service. very courteous and they help you through the entire process of selecting a suitable system to boost your cell phone reception. I purchased a Wilson Electronics Amplifier Kit for the car (because it is more well known) and amazingly after setting it up on my vehicle, while doing a test run, my cell phone bars consistently stayed at a 3-4 and never went down. I can't ask for more. I just don't really like how the amplifier sticks out but for something that works this fine, i don't want to complain. Works Great!!! By Mario on September 8, 2008
I used it in the car and boosted up my cellphone signal by 2 bar in areas where I usually get dropped signals! Should've bought the items before I lost a couple of clients due to signal droppage :( |
