Installation Instructions
-Low Profile Antenna-
The Wilson Low-Profile Antenna is designed for use both as an external cellphone antenna (connects to phone with an antenna adapter) or as a wireless amplifier's internal antenna (connects to wireless amplifier).
This antenna should never be connected to a "direct connection" amplifier. This antenna will not allow a "direct connection" amplifier to function as a "wireless amplifier".
In-Vehicle Installation
Used as Cellular Phone Antenna
- Find suitable location for antenna placement inside the front or rear window. Optimum mounting location is at the top of and centered on the window. If mounting on rear window, avoid defroster wires that may impair performance.
Antenna must be mounted vertically.
- Ensure glass temperature is at least 60 degrees F.
- Clean glass with alcohol swab where antenna will attach to window.
- Remove 3M tape backing from antenna.
- Press firmly on antenna to insure proper adhesion.
- Route cable from antenna to cellphone location.
- Attach your adapter to the antenna cable and then to your cellphone.
In-Building Installation
Used as Wireless Amplifier Antenna
- Select a location for antenna placement in an area or room needing better reception.
- Test the antenna in different locations for maximum performance before permanently installing antenna.
- Important: Proper separation between outside and inside antenna is very important (40 feet separation for 50dB, 75 feet separation for 60dB).
- Mount antenna at least 7' from the ground. Antenna may be mounted vertically or horizontally. In a drop down ceiling, antenna may be mounted
flat.
- Important: The low profile antenna must have a separation of at least 6 inches from any metal object.
Attaching your Phone to the Adapter
In order to attach you cellular antenna to your cellphone you will need an Adapter. The Adapter connects the phone to the antenna cable and transfers power to and from the antenna.
